An American chewing gum company has applied for the Web3 trademark to expand its footprint in the Metaverse.
Bubble gum company Wrigley plans to enter the Web3 domain
Wrigley, an American chewing gum company, has applied for the “Juicyverse” trademark to enter the NFT and metaverse space.
The applications were filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) by The Wm on March 24, according to trademark attorney Mike Kondodis. Wrigley Junior Company. The company claims plans for the following virtual goods and services:

At the time of writing, Wrigley has not released any details about Juicyverse or its potential Web3 venture. But Wrigley’s parent company, Mars Incorporated, has taken a similar approach before when introducing some of its famous confectionery brands into his Web3. Last year, the company said he filed similar trademarks for the M&M’s and Snickers brands, claiming plans for NFT and the Metaverse.
Of course, Mars and Wrigley aren’t the only confectioners on this bandwagon. In November, Swiss chocolatier Lindt USA launched its own metaverse his outlet in partnership with BeyondXR. Visitors were able to enjoy various immersive experiences while purchasing premium Lindt chocolates. In December, Hershey entered the metaverse by partnering with her LandVault to launch a virtual spot in her Decentraland. During a Christmas-themed activation, users were able to explore the virtual shop and earn exclusive rewards.
No doubt many large companies have sought to expand their brand presence in the growing virtual world and NFT market. By applying for the Web3 trademark, Wrigley is at the forefront of this trend.
