The process of migrating blockchain games from the main ethereum network to a layer 2 or sidechain solution continues. The latest, Voxie Tactics, begins their migration later this month by migrating all gaming-related NFTs to Polygon. owners of Voxie Tactics NFTs don’t really need to do anything. But the team does recommend cancelling transactions and sales before the wallet snapshot.
Voxie Tactics, a free-to-play, play-and-earn strategy game, plans to migrate their game NFTs to Polygon to take advantage of the lower transaction fees associated with that blockchain. The migration kicks off at the end of this month (September 2022) and takes place over two days.

The first phase of this migration kicks off on September 20, 2022. the Voxie team recommends suspending all Voxie-related transactions and removing listings from the NFT marketplace by 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., Voxie will update Ether’s metadata information to show the migration to Polygon.
On September 21, the Voxie team is increasing the royalty fee to 100% for all Voxie NFTs on Ether. So if someone buys Voxie on the wrong network, all the money goes to the team and they can then reimburse the purchaser. These fees kick in at 10am, and at 1pm the new Voxie collection of smart contracts will be deployed on Polygon.
Then, on the 22nd, all the final links are put in place. The wallet snapshot happens at 10 a.m., with the NFT airdrop on Polygon starting at 1 p.m. Later in the day, the team plans to do maintenance starting at 5pm. This is to get the Voxie Tactics game ready to use the new Polygon NFT. The Voxie team schedules a two-hour maintenance window, but these things almost always take longer than planned. So plan accordingly!
Migrating to Polygon will not only allow players to trade and transfer NFTs at a much lower cost, but if they use the official Voxie Tactics marketplace, there will be no gas fees at all! This will be a great opportunity.
Owners of Voxie NFTs won’t have to do much. They can even continue playing the game until the maintenance window on the 22nd. With this migration, all NFTs on the main ethereum network become dead NFTs.
What’s New with Voxie Tactics?
It’s been a while since we covered Voxie Tactics. While the game is still officially in alpha status, players can already earn VOXEL tokens and NFT as a reward for winning battles. voxie Tactics is a free-to-play strategy game with the potential to play and earn.
Since our previous article and video review, the Voxies team has been cruising along – updating the game, fending off bots, and tweaking its gameplay and revenue economy. As a reward for players who have been active and dealt with various game issues during the alpha (including sometimes receiving zero VOXEL payouts after winning a match), Team Voxie plans to airdrop VOXEL tokens to players on a one-time basis and offer a temporary doubling of the token reward. The date for both rewards is still undetermined, but I expect it will be after the upcoming migration to Polygon.
