The Sandbox Announces Dubaiverse Metaverse Project
The Sandbox, a subsidiary of top metaverse and Animoca Brands, has revealed that it will launch a Dubai-themed Dubaiverse. 38 million dollars.
The Dubaiverse project looks like a Hong Kong mega-city located in a sandbox meta-space. The Hong Kong model, which entered its second phase in April, came about through a series of partnerships with brands and investors in the music and entertainment, education, media, culture, tourism and cultural industries. Partners include venture capital firm Brinc, Web3 Ventures MADWorld, Tatler Asia, Regal Hotels Group, Iconic Ocean Park and others.
Dubaiverse will also be built through partnerships with local companies within the city. Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) Dubai’s cryptocurrency regulator is the first to buy a plot in the Dubai-themed metaverse, said parent company Animoca Brands.
GCEX’s Dubai managing director Mehtap Onder said the company will also take a step forward in the metaverse by offering education on virtual assets.

The local news partner for the project is Khaleej Times, Dubai’sDubai’s English-language daily newspaper. Sohail Nawaz, chief digital officer at Khaleej Times, said.
“As a publisher, business models are being challenged around the world, and it’s a very important strategic move for us to have new business models entering the space.”
Sandbox also plans to host themed metros for cities such as Turkey, Singapore and South Korea.
A week ago, Singapore banking giant DBS Bank launched its metaspace experience at The Sandbox, and the two companies are collaborating on SingaporeVerse, a virtual space that will showcase Singapore’s culture and will be made possible through partnerships with local communities, brands, government agencies and technology companies.
