INDEX GAME, the Hong Kong-based metadata agency, has signed an investment agreement with The Sandbox. As a result, the company has become the first metadata agency officially designated by The Sandbox. The Sandbox and INDEX GAME will work together to develop the metaspace, create games, and strengthen the Web3 ecosystem.
INDEX GAME is a new company in the blockchain industry that recently completed its one year anniversary. The company is focused on designing voxel-based NFT assets, providing advertising solutions, buying and selling land, and building gaming experiences.

About the investment
Hong Kong-based startup INDEX GAME has received $1.7 million in funding from The Sandbox. Over time, The Sandbox will invest more in the company, with the investment expected to reach $6 million by 2023. The Sandbox will also provide INDEX GAME with an exclusive arrangement to access the IP created as a result of this partnership.
In the past year, INDEX GAME has partnered with several well-known Hong Kong brands to build four experiences in The Sandbox. These projects include the first meta-space experience at the South China Morning Post’s Hong Kong Star Ferry Terminal. The second project is Kowloon Walled City. City of Darkness, based on Hong Kong in the 1970s. The third project is Hanjin Music Festival: Monstrous Multicolored Guitars, which features Chinese musician Hanjin Chen, and the fourth project is Hang Seng Bank’s GO!GingerOnion 5**College.
In addition to these exciting projects, INDEX GAME is also developing an NFT voxel project called Master 8 in the Sandbox, the first Chinese martial arts NFTs in the Sandbox. the purpose of creating this project is to preserve the historical heritage of Kung Fu by developing NFTs on this theme. The series includes 12 martial arts-inspired NFTs and was released in the Sandbox Marketplace in May of this year.
What is the INDEX GAME?
INDEX GAME is a metaspace startup that provides metaspace experiences for brands and IP on The Sandbox. The company focuses on designing lands, hubs, galleries, social experiences and voxel-based NFT assets on The Sandbox metaspace. They also make land acquisitions for brands to access the metaspace and help implement marketing concepts by building voxel-based animations.
INDEX GAME is also building an INDEX Academy, which will provide training opportunities for land architects. INDEX GAME will bring 3 new experiences to Sandbox Alpha Season 3, including Hong Kong Star Ferry, releasing August 30, 2022, Hanjin Music Festival, releasing September 1, and Hong Kong Walker, releasing October 7, 2022. These Hong Kong-based gaming experiences, powered by Index Game, will allow players to earn exciting rewards.
What is The Sandbox?
