Sky Mavis Releases Social Login Feature for Ronin Wallet Alongside Threshold Key Management & More

With the release of the Social Login feature, new users can now easily create a Ronin wallet using their Google, Twitter, Facebook, or Apple accounts. In addition to adding user-friendly signup, Sky Mavis also includes threshold key management, the option to view his Axie accessories in the app, and QoL improvements.

Sky Mavis, creator of the popular blockchain game Axie Infinity, has announced the release of a new social login feature for its Ronin Wallet app. With this new feature, a new user can use her Google, Apple, Facebook, or Twitter account to create his wallet in less than two minutes, making the onboarding process seamless and simple.

Existing Ronin wallets created with a recovery phrase will remain unchanged, but new social login functionality will remove the need for newcomers to the ecosystem to manage recovery phrases. The company implements unmanaged threshold key management (tKey) to maintain security while providing convenient login options.

Threshold key management splits the private key into three parts called key shares, each stored in a separate location with its own recovery mechanism. A user needs at least two of the three key shares to access her Ronin wallet. This simplifies the restore process and eliminates the risk of a single point of failure for recovery phrase storage.

In addition to social login functionality, Sky Mavis also includes additional updates to the Ronin Wallet app, including the ability to view Axie accessories directly within the app, and minor UI enhancements to the QR code scanner and wallet management experience increase. Axie Accessories are now visible in the Collectibles tab, and the QR Code section now shows the full Ronin address.
