SK Telecom’s Ifland Metaverse Goes Global, Launches in 49 Countries and Regions

The Metaverse platform is now available on iOS and Android with more language options, improved communication features, a wider range of K-pop content, and more.

Ifland metaverse is expanding into the overseas market

South Korea’s largest mobile operator, SK Telecom (SKT), has launched its flagship metaverse platform, ifland, in 49 countries across North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

with this, ifland is now available in English, Chinese and Japanese for Android and iOS users. According to the announcement, SKT will utilize his K-POP content, develop attractive content with overseas partners, and enhance communication functions to form ifland into a leading social metaverse platform.

the South Korean company is currently working with major telecommunications companies such as e& (formerly Etisalat Group), Singtel and NTT Docomo to develop customized features for different regions around the world.

Every week, Ifland celebrates its global growth with a wide range of K-pop live content, including K-pop trainee auditions and K-pop idol development for global fans. Through ifland’s SNS account, SKT plans to hold a gift event for overseas users who participate in the K-POP meetup.

as of October 2022, ifland has over 12.8 million users, a fourfold increase from 3 million earlier this year. SKT attributes this growth to the platform’s unique metaverse content.
