What is The Fabled?
The Fabled is a free-to-play action RPG set in a world where a portal to the Abyss has opened. As you guide your character through different levels, you will face different challenges and enemies.
The Abyss is a mysterious and dangerous force that corrupts everything it touches, and so far no one has been able to discover who opened the portal or how it was created. Brave heroes from all corners have stepped into the Abyss in search of answers.
The Fabled is built using multi-chain aggregator Xenum by Octavian Studios, and the team has been building games for over three years. If you’re into lore and questing, this is the game for you, but you’ll need a high skill cap to win.

How do you play and win The Fabled?
The game is played in two main ways: on foot and in the air:
- On foot, players can choose from a variety of character classes such as knights, sorcerers, gods, and demons, and use various weapons such as swords, bows, and magic to defeat their enemies.
- Alternatively, players can ride a dragon mount and attack enemies from above using the dragon’s breath attack, which is essentially a giant flamethrower.
The game lets you collect rare weapons and artifacts and level up your character as you play. Optionally, you can use $ABYS to create these assets on the blockchain and trade, sell, buy, or rent them with other players, or access exclusive items only available on the market.
$ABYS tokens can also be used to enhance your character’s powers by leveling them up and imbuing them with the power of the Abyss. $ABYS also gives you the opportunity to monetize your time in the game.
What makes the game innovative?
Tokens
The Fabled uses two currencies to facilitate transactions. One on-chain and one off-chain:
Off-chain tokens are called Ashes, and players earn them by killing enemies in-game. Ashes can be used to purchase Soft Mint items and potions from in-game vendors. Ash can expand and ‘burn’ when used.
The on-chain currency is called $ABYS and allows players to hardmint items onto the blockchain. $ABYS can also be rewarded for defeating bosses, and is the primary form of reward for rents, summons, and other market transactions. $ABYS can also be staked for regular rewards.
NFTs
The Fabled lets you buy, sell, trade, create and rent digital assets with other players. You need at least one of her Fabled characters to play the game. These characters have different appearances and belong to different classes.
There are three main classes:
- Gods
- Devil
- Warriors
Each main class has its own set of subclasses. Each character also has specific abilities and strengths that fit their design. For example, a Ranger character belonging to his Warrior subclass may have abilities that are particularly useful for archery.
It’s up to the player to decide which class best suits their playstyle. As players progress through the Abyss, they are given the opportunity to level up their legendary characters and improve their abilities.
Staking
Players can earn rewards by choosing to lock their $ABYS tokens for a period of time through a process called staking. The longer and more tokens staked, the higher the reward tier players will receive.
- Tier 1 – Potions, food, and other consumables.
- Tier 2 – Rings, Amulets, Tier 1.
- Tier 3 – Weapons and all of the above.
- Tier 4 – Character + Tiers 1-3.
- Tier 5 – Lands/Creatures and everything from the previous tier.
Renting
Rentals allow more players to access The Fabled and share rewards by renting characters and items from guilds and other players. This feature allows you to try out different builds and weapons before buying them.
Platforms like Xenum allow players to add assets to pools that other players can rent for a period of time. Guilds can also donate assets to pool rentals, making it easier for scholars and guilds to share rewards.
Xenum’s interface allows guilds and other players to see the rankings of other renters, thus highlighting the top earners and allowing guilds to adjust their asset pools to attract the best scholars and players. I can do it.
