Axie Launches Origin Season 1 with Renewed Rewards

Axie Infinity (AXS) payments to landowners will be briefly halted due to the September 15 Ether merger.

  • Season 1 offered higher rewards in a larger pool for participants in the top 40K of the leaderboard.
  • Axie Infinity will rebalance the game in two weeks.
  • Charms and runes will have enough time to be crafted before the end of the season.

After a period of testing, Axie Infinity will launch Origin’s first official season. The first season comes after the testing of Season 0, where the Smooth Love Potion (SLP) reward was briefly discontinued. The game will now launch with new balance and revenue potential, aiming to rebuild its original appeal.

To increase participation and motivation, this season will carry the equivalent of $1.5 million in AXS rewards. This will eliminate Axie infinity’s biggest flaw – relying on SLPs to carry the bulk of the rewards, while also getting deeper and deeper into the game. axie infinity has had success with its latest exclusive classic tournament, with another $1.5 million in AXS rewards going to top players.

The new season will undergo its first rebalancing in about two weeks to smooth out the reward details. Other changes are pre-determined and fixed. For example, the season will give players enough time to unlock their runes and charms and restore them to moon shards, which can carry over to the next season.

Under the rule of no carryover to the next season, all runes and charms from the first season are destroyed. In addition, each team will compete in a short game of rock, paper, scissors to choose who gets first dibs.

Axie Infinity Aims to Regain Player Count

The top 40,000 players will receive a reward, making the leaderboard even more important. Axie Infinity Origin will now be a highly competitive game, rather than an idle game with a fixed income. The game will also award stickers and status based on progress, with a greater focus on account prestige. Top players will continue to receive the majority of the rewards.

Before the season began, Axe Infinite had 239,800 players per day, ranking the game ninth. This is just a small fraction of the massive adoption, with Axe inviting millions of players. This time, the game will play with all the competitive edge in the tournament.

Despite the launch of the new season, AXS fell more than 7% overnight to $13.25. However, AXS is still relatively well protected, holding above $12 at the bear market lows. SLP remains little changed at $0.0036.
